He Makes A Difference

He Makes A Difference

Every once in a while we are blessed to meet a person that is such a Mentsch that you cannot help but wish him success in everything he does. Eleven years ago, I met such a man.

In December of 2002, I spent a day in the City of Cedar Hill, Texas. I was in town for a family event and decided to spend a day at my new place of employment to get to know the people a bit before I started my new job (in January). Little did I know that I would meet a man that would so change my life for better.

Let me tell you a little bit about this man. Mr. Greg Porter (a.k.a. Porter) is a man who cares. He cares about his employees, he has the heart of a servant, and he will go out of his way to do things for people (sometimes in secret mode) because he is humble.

He also has some interesting sayings. “Don’t get your knickers in a wad”, he would tell me. Such and such will happen when “cats and dogs sleep together”. Mr. Porter is the voice of calm & reason (….well, almost always).

He taught me a lot. It is a sincere privilege to be counted among his friends and an extreme honor to have had the pleasure of working for him.

Mr. Greg Porter serves his city with love, respect, integrity, and humility. The City of Cedar Hill is blessed to have such an amazing new City Manager.

May G-d Bless You and your family and may you always have 100% Total Success.

With Respect & Love,

Ruthie (Anatoly) Guten
