Chapter 20
1. For the Conductor, a psalm by David.
2. May the Lord answer you on the day of distress; may the Name of the God of Jacob fortify you.
3. May He send your help from the Sanctuary, and support you from Zion.
4. May He remember all your offerings, and always accept favorably your sacrifices.
5. May He grant you your heart’s desire, and fulfill your every counsel.
6. We will rejoice in your deliverance, and raise our banners in the name of our God; may the Lord fulfill all your wishes.
7. Now I know that the Lord has delivered His anointed one, answering him from His holy heavens with the mighty saving power of His right hand.
8. Some [rely] upon chariots and some upon horses, but we [rely upon and] invoke the Name of the Lord our God.
9. They bend and fall, but we rise and stand firm.
10. Lord, deliver us; may the King answer us on the day we call.
Chapter 29
A psalm of David.
1 Ascribe to the Lord, you heavenly beings, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
2 Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of his[a] holiness.
3 The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord thunders over the mighty waters.
4 The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is majestic.
5 The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars; the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.
6 He makes Lebanon leap like a calf, Sirion[b] like a young wild ox.
7 The voice of the Lord strikes with flashes of lightning.
8 The voice of the Lord shakes the desert; the Lord shakes the Desert of Kadesh.
9 The voice of the Lord twists the oaks[c] and strips the forests bare.And in his temple all cry, “Glory!”
10 The Lord sits enthroned over the flood; the Lord is enthroned as King forever.
11 The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.
Psalm 24
Of David. A psalm.
1 The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it;
2 for he founded it on the seas and established it on the waters.
3 Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place?
4 The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god.[a]
5 They will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God their Savior.
6 Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, God of Jacob.[b][c]
7 Lift up your heads, you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.
8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your heads, you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.
10 Who is he, this King of glory? The Lord Almighty— he is the King of glory.

Psalm 37
1 Of David.
2 Do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong;
3 for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away.
4 Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
5 Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
6 Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this:
7 He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.
8 Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him;do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.
9 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil.
10 For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.
11 A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found.
12 But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy peace and prosperity.
13 The wicked plot against the righteous and gnash their teeth at them;
14 but the Lord laughs at the wicked, for he knows their day is coming.
15 The wicked draw the sword and bend the bowto bring down the poor and needy, to slay those whose ways are upright.
16 But their swords will pierce their own hearts, and their bows will be broken.
17 Better the little that the righteous have than the wealth of many wicked;
18 for the power of the wicked will be broken, but the Lord upholds the righteous.
19 The blameless spend their days under the Lord’s care, and their inheritance will endure forever.
20 In times of disaster they will not wither; in days of famine they will enjoy plenty.
21 But the wicked will perish: Though the Lord’s enemies are like the flowers of the field, they will be consumed, they will go up in smoke.
22 The wicked borrow and do not repay, but the righteous give generously;
23 those the Lord blesses will inherit the land, but those he curses will be destroyed.
24 The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him;
25 though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.
26 I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.
27 They are always generous and lend freely; their children will be a blessing.[b]
28 Turn from evil and do good; then you will dwell in the land forever.
29 For the Lord loves the just and will not forsake his faithful ones.
Wrongdoers will be completely destroyed[c]; the offspring of the wicked will perish.
30 The righteous will inherit the land and dwell in it forever.
31 The mouths of the righteous utter wisdom, and their tongues speak what is just.
32 The law of their God is in their hearts; their feet do not slip.
33 The wicked lie in wait for the righteous, intent on putting them to death;
34 but the Lord will not leave them in the power of the wicked or let them be condemned when brought to trial.
35 Hope in the Lord and keep his way.He will exalt you to inherit the land; when the wicked are destroyed, you will see it.
36 I have seen a wicked and ruthless man flourishing like a luxuriant native tree,
37 but he soon passed away and was no more; though I looked for him, he could not be found.
38 Consider the blameless, observe the upright; a future awaits those who seek peace.[d]
39 But all sinners will be destroyed; there will be no future[e] for the wicked.
40 The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord; he is their stronghold in time of trouble.
41 The Lord helps them and delivers them; he delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in him.
Psalm 84
1 For the director of music. According to gittith.[b] Of the Sons of Korah. A psalm.
2 How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord Almighty!
3 My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord;my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.
4 Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young—a place near your altar, Lord Almighty, my King and my God.
5 Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you.[c]
6 Blessed are those whose strength is in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.
7 As they pass through the Valley of Baka, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools.[d]
8 They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion.
9 Hear my prayer, Lord God Almighty; listen to me, God of Jacob.
10 Look on our shield,[e] O God; look with favor on your anointed one.
11 Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere;I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
12 For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.
13 Lord Almighty, blessed is the one who trusts in you.
Psalm 71
1] In you, O Lord, I take refuge; let me never be put to confusion. [2] Save me in your righteousness, and cause me to escape; incline your ear to me, and save me. [3] Be my strong habitation, to which I may continually resort, which you have appointed to save me; for you are my rock and my fortress. [4] Save me, O my God, from the hand of the wicked, from the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man. [5] For you are my hope, O Lord God; you are my trust from my youth. [6] By you have I been sustained from the womb; you are he who took me from my mother’s bowels; my praise is continually of you. [7] I am a wonder to many; but you are my strong refuge. [8] Let my mouth be filled with your praise and with your honor all the day. [9] Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength fails. [23] My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing to you; and my soul, which you have redeemed. [24] My tongue also shall declare your righteousness all the day long; for those who seek my harm are confounded, they are brought to shame.
Psalm 72
1] A Psalm for Solomon. Give the king your judgments, O God, and your righteousness to the king’s son. [2] That he may judge your people with righteousness, and your poor with judgment. [3] Let the mountains bring peace to the people, and the hills, by righteousness. [4] May he judge the poor of the people, may he save the children of the needy, and may he break in pieces the oppressor. [5] May they fear you as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations. [6] May he come down like rain that falls on the mown grass; like showers that water the earth. [7] Let the righteous flourish in his days; and let there be abundance of peace till the moon is no more. [8] May he have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river to the ends of the earth. Psalm 73
1] A Psalm of Asaph. Truly God is good to Israel, to those who are of a clean heart. [2]But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well near slipped. [3] For I was envious of the arrogant, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. [4] For there are no pangs in their death; their body is firm. [5] They are not in trouble like other men; nor are they plagued like other men. [6] Therefore arrogance is their necklace; violence covers them like a garment. [7] Their eyes stand out with fatness; they have more than heart could wish. [8] They scoff, and speak wickedly; concerning oppression they speak loftily. [9] They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue struts through the earth. [10]Therefore his people return here; and abundant waters are drained out by them. [11] And they say, How does God know? And is there knowledge in the most High? [12] Behold, these are the wicked, which prosper in the world; they increase in riches. [13] Truly I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocence. [14] For all the day long have I been stricken, and chastened every morning. [15] If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend against the generation of your children. [16] When I pondered how I might understand this, it was too wearisome for me; [17] Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then I understood their end. [18] Surely you set them in slippery places; you cast them down into ruin. [19] How are they brought into desolation in a moment, utterly consumed with terrors! [20] As a dream when one awakes; so, O Lord, when you awake, you shall despise their image. [21] When my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my insides. [22] I was foolish and ignorant; I was like a beast before you. [23] Nevertheless I am continually with you; you hold my right hand. [24] You shall guide me with your counsel, and afterwards receive me to glory. [25] Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is none on earth that I desire beside you. [26] My flesh and my heart fail; but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever. [27] For, behold, those who are far from you shall perish; you have destroyed all those who go astray from you. [28] But for me it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may declare all your works.
Psalm 74
1] A Maskil of Asaph. O God, why have you cast us off for ever? Why does your anger smoke against the sheep of your pasture? [2] Remember your congregation, which you have purchased of old; the tribe of your inheritance, which you have redeemed; this Mount Zion, where you have dwelt. [3] Lift up your feet to the perpetual desolations; the enemy has destroyed everything in the sanctuary. [4] Your enemies roar in the midst of your congregations; they set up their own signs for signs. [5] They are known as swingers of axes in the thick forest. [6] But now they break down its carved work altogether with axes and hammers. [7] They have burned with fire your sanctuary, they have defiled the dwelling place of your name. [8] They said in their hearts, Let us destroy them together; they have burned up all the meeting places of God in the land. [9] We do not see our signs; there is no prophet any longer; nor is there among us any who knows how long. [10] O God, how long shall the adversary taunt? Shall the enemy blaspheme your name for ever? [11]Why do you withdraw your hand, your right hand? Take it out of your bosom! [12] For God is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth. [13] You parted the sea by your strength; you broke the heads of the crocodiles in the waters. [19] O do not deliver the soul of your dove to the wild beasts; do not forget the congregation of your poor for ever. [20] Look upon the covenant; for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty. [21] O let not the oppressed return ashamed; let the poor and needy praise your name. [22] Arise, O God, plead your own cause; remember how the villain insults you daily. [23] Do not forget the voice of your enemies; the tumult of those who rise up against you increases continually.
Psalm 75
1] To the chief Musician, Altaschith, A Psalm Song of Asaph. [2] To you, O God, we give thanks, to you we give thanks; men declare your wondrous works. [3] Surely at the set time which I appoint I will judge with equity. [4] When the earth and all its inhabitants are dissolved, I bear up its pillars. Selah. [5] I said to the boastful, Do not boast; and to the wicked, Do not lift up your horn; [6] Lift not up your horn on high; speak not with an insolent neck. [7] For judgment comes not from the east, nor from the west, nor from the mountains of the desert. [8] But God is the judge; he puts down one, and sets up another. Zacharia Chapter 14
1 Behold! A day of the Lord is coming, and your plunder shall be shared within you.
2 And I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to wage war; and the city shall be captured, and the houses shall be plundered, and the women shall be ravished, and half the city shall go forth into exile-and the rest of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
3 And the Lord shall go forth and wage war with those nations, like the day he waged war on the day of the battle.
4 And on that day His feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem from the east. And the Mount of Olives shall split in the midst thereof-toward the east and toward the west-a very great valley. And half the mountain shall move to the north, and half of it to the south.
5 And you shall flee to the valley of the mountains, for the valley of the mountains shall reach Azal. And you shall flee as you fled because of the earthquake, in the days of Uzziah the King of Judah. And the Lord, my God, shall come; all holy ones with you.
6 And it shall come to pass on that day that there shall be no light, only disappearing light and thick darkness.
7 And it shall be one day that shall be known to the Lord, neither day nor night; and it shall come to pass that at eventide it shall be light.
8 And it shall come to pass on that day that spring water shall come forth from Jerusalem; half of it to the eastern sea, and half of it to the western sea; in summer and in winter it shall be.
9 And the Lord shall become King over all the earth; on that day shall the Lord be one, and His name one.
10 The whole earth shall be changed to be like a plain, from the hill of Rimmon in the south of Jerusalem; but it [Jerusalem] will be elevated high and remain in its old place; from the gate of Benjamin to the place of the first gate, until the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananel until the king’s wine-cellars.
11 And they shall dwell therein, and there shall be no more destruction; but Jerusalem shall dwell in safety.
12 And this shall be the plague wherewith the Lord will smite all the nations who besieged Jerusalem; his flesh will waste away while he still stands on his feet; his eyes will waste away in their sockets, and his tongue shall waste away in his mouth.
13 And it will come to pass on that day that there will be great consternation, sent by the Lord upon them; each one shall seize the hand of the other, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of the other.
14 Yea, even Judah will fight against Jerusalem! And the wealth of all the nations round about-gold and silver and apparel-will be gathered in very great abundance.
15 And so will be the plague of the horses, the mules, the camels, the donkeys, and all the animals that are in those camps, similar to this plague.
16 And it will come to pass that everyone left of the nations who came up against Jerusalem will go up from year to year to prostrate himself to the King, the Lord of Hosts, and to celebrate the festival of Tabernacles.
17 And it shall be that whoever of all the families of the earth does not go up to Jerusalem to prostrate himself to the King, the Lord of Hosts-upon them there shall be no rain.
18 And if the family of Egypt does not go up and does not come, it shall not [rain] upon them. The plague [on Egypt] will be [the same as] that with which the Lord will plague the nations who do not go up to celebrate the festival of Tabernacles.
19 Such will be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations who do not go up to celebrate the festival of Tabernacles.
20 On that day there will be upon the bells of the horses, “holy to the Lord”; and the pots in the House of the Lord will be like the sprinkling bowls before the altar.
21 Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah will be holy to the Lord of Hosts, and all who sacrifice will come and take of them and cook in them; and there will no longer be a trafficker in the House of the Lord of Hosts on that day.
Ezekiel chapter 38
1Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
2″Son of man, set your face toward Gog, [toward] the land of Magog, the prince, the head of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy concerning him.
3And you shall say; So said the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, Gog, the prince, the head of Meshech and Tubal.
4And I shall unbridle you, and I shall put hooks into your jaws and bring you forth and all your army, horses and riders, all of them clothed in finery, a great assembly, with encompassing shield and buckler, all of them grasping swords.
5Persia, Cush, and Put are with them; all of them with buckler and helmet.
6Gomer and all its wings, the house of Togarmah, the utmost parts of the north and all its wings, many peoples with you.
7Be prepared and make ready for yourself, you and all your assembly who are gathered about you, and you will be to them for a guardian.
8From many days you will be remembered; at the end of the years you will come to a land [whose inhabitants] returned from the sword, gathered from many peoples, upon the mountains of Israel, which had been continually laid waste, but it was liberated from the nations, and they all dwelt securely.
9And you will ascend; like mist you will come; like a cloud to cover the earth you will be; you and all your wings and many peoples with you.
10So said the Lord God: It will come to pass on that day that words will enter your heart and you will think a thought of evil.
11And you will say, “I shall ascend upon a land of open cities; I shall come upon the tranquil, who dwell securely; all of them living without a wall, and they have no bars or doors.
12To take spoil and to plunder loot, to return your hand upon the resettled ruins and to a people gathered from nations, acquiring livestock and possessions, dwelling on the navel of the earth.
13Sheba and Dedan and merchants of Tarshish and all its magnates will say to you, “Are you coming to take spoil? Have you assembled your assembly to plunder loot, to carry off silver and gold, to take livestock and possessions, to take much spoil?”
14Therefore, prophesy, O son of man, and say to Gog, So said the Lord God: Surely on that day, when My people dwells securely, you will know.
15And you will come from your place, from the utmost north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding horses; a great assembly and a mighty army.
16And you will ascend upon My people Israel like a cloud to cover the earth; at the end of days it will be, and I shall bring you upon My land in order that the nations recognize Me when I am sanctified through you before their eyes, O Gog.
17So said the Lord God: Are you he about whom I spoke in ancient days through My servants, the prophets of Israel who prophesied in those days many years ago, to bring you upon them.
18And it will come to pass on that day, when Gog comes against the land of Israel, declares the Lord God, that My blazing indignation will flame in My nostrils.
19For in My jealousy and in the fire of My wrath I have spoken; Surely there shall be a great noise on that day in the land of Israel.
20And at My presence, the fishes of the sea and the birds of the heaven and the beasts of the field and all the creeping things that creep upon the earth and all the men who are upon the surface of the earth shall quake, and all the mountains shall be thrown down, and the cliffs shall fall to the ground.
21And I will call the sword against him upon all My mountains, says the Lord God: every man’s sword shall be against his brother.
22And I will judge against him with pestilence and with blood, and rain bringing floods, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone will I rain down upon him and upon his hordes and upon the many peoples that are with him.
23And I will reveal Myself in My greatness and in My holiness and will be recognized in the eyes of many nations, and they will know that I am the Lord.
