Trader Joe’s Made Me Cry

Trader Joe’s Made Me Cry

Have you ever had a moment in your life that you felt as if you were on auto-pilot? I had such a week last week.

I was chugging along doing a million things at once while juggling some difficult family/friend issues. As many of you know, I am usually a very happy person, so many times strangers can’t tell when I am facing a challenging moment. As you also probably know, I LOVE nutrition and healthy living and happily rattle about such matters to anyone that cares to listen.

That was the case last week. I ran into Trader Joe’s (Plano, Texas) to get a few items for home (fridge was pretty bare) and I was running back to visit a loved one at the hospital. [Side-note: Trader Joe’s employees have got to be the friendliest employees on the planet!!!] The beautiful young lady at the cash register commented on the healthy choices I made and I took the opportunity to remind her that it’s never too early to live a healthy lifestyle, as some of my loved ones are suffering through tremendous health challenges. I also asked her not to pack my mineral water because I really needed a drink (my attempt at humor for the day) and that was it for my ride to the hospital.

After I paid my bill, she asked me to wait a minute while someone from customer service approached and handed her a bouquet of flowers, which she promptly gave to me. She assured me that “everything is going to be ok” and gave me a big hug. Frankly, such kindness brought me to tears.

I applaud this young lady & I applaud Trader Joe’s for supporting their employees to treat their customers with kindness, friendliness & compassion. Thank you, Trader Joe’s!

We never truly know what’s going on in someone’s life or the challenges each person faces. Behind somebody’s smile there could be heartbreak.

This random act of kindness made my day and I will pay it forward. I challenge you to do a random act of kindness.
